Alma’s LDS Tours in Cancun was founded in 1989 with the strict belief that The Book of Mormon is the most correct book on earth. Alma Petlacalco (founder) was born in México City to Luis Petlacalco M., one of the first official tour guides of Tulum and an aztec descendant. Alma is the seventh daughter in a family of nine – all current tour guides. She grew up watching the example of her father guide tours in Chichen Itza, Teotihuacan and the ruins of Tulum. As a child, she spent most of her time with her father, always searching and exploring for new sites in the Yucatan Peninsula. Her extensive and varied experience is thanks to him.
Alma developed a great love for these ruins, and today she uses that experience she gained with her father to share with everyone, showing the symbolism and details engraved in the carvings of nearly every building and temple of ancient Mayan archaeological sites (with an emphasis in Mesoamerica and the Book of Mormon).
Alma will help you feel a strong ancestral spirit in the ruins and a closeness to the Gospel Alma Petlacalco has a great love for our Savior Jesus Christ, and she loves touring with you to explore the sacred lands of the Book of Mormon. She is an officially licensed tour guide and holds a certified degree in anthropology, archaeology and Mexican from the Universidad La Salle Cancún.
